stubby/disk
This is an alternative to the fish, but I think it works better in small onshore slop. This board has more curve in the tail area than the fish, it is very thick throughout, making it very easy to catch waves and keep planing over dead spots in the waves. It has a flat bottom with a vee through the tail fin for speed.
It is also a good board for bigger days when wave faces are very sloppy. This can be much shorter than your regular board as it is so easy to paddle. typical measurements are 6' 4" long by 21 1/2" wide with a 15" nose and a 16" tail and 2 3/4" thick.
